At first I planned to use an LLM-agent to rebase my 7-year-old branch to the current QEMU, but it turned out to be a trivial exercise, so I did it manually.
Since people keep PMing me about AIX, I guess it may be still of use. So, please check the 40p-20260308-aix-boots branch, and if it works for you I'll update the how-to.
The branch still has the 10 year old S3 Trio emulation from Hervé, I'm not sure if there is a newer version of this. Checked that at least AIX maintenance mode starts with S3 Trio VGA and serial, but haven't tested anything beyond that.
I don't plan upstreaming the S3 Trio stuff, it's mostly there for those who like it running with the proprietary firmware (it has a nice animation). Nevertheless OFW can use it too.
